GROUP Floor
Gravity and a mat is all you need for this fun group class! All levels welcome for this total body workout on the floor. The rhythmic exercises promote elongated and toned muscles, and are noted for developing abdomen, lower back and buttocks strength, and create a strong body core. Gentle on the body, the teacher will always give modifications to make a movement more challenging or easier. Requests are welcome and props may be used. Sweating possible.

Do not be fooled by this Level’s number. Will it be a total body workout and will you feel stretched, with a longer spine, stronger back, abs, butt, arms? Absolutely. In fact, Pengu believes that the more advanced you become, the harder Level 1 is. You will learn fundamental principles of good posture and alignment, building strength, flexibility, posture and breath support, and balance. Moves are integrated and flow from one to the next. Gentle on the body, the teacher will always give modifications to make a movement more challenging or easier (but you’ll always want the more challenging, right?).

Building on Level 1, you will be asked to employ more body awareness, ability to balance, bear body weight with your arms/hands, create bigger movements using gravity & momentum, use larger muscle groups, your breath, your imagination, and your optimism. Those with injuries, particularly wrist, elbow, or neck, please attain a teacher’s permission before signing up.
Prerequisite: For your safety, you must have attended at least one Level 1/Mixed Level class and have the teacher’s permission.
